Hutton gets extra year
USU linebacker Jake Hutton was a senior this season for the USU football team, but he’ll be in an Aggie uniform in 2009.
Thursday Hutton was given one more year of eligibility by the NCAA. In 2006, Hutton started the first four games before being sidelined with a foot injury for the remainder of the season. He appealed to the NCAA for an extra season.
New head football coach Gary Andersen said he will have an aggressive defense. Hutton’s return will only add to it.
Hutton said his foot has been bothering him ever since he injured it. Therefore, he said he will have surgery next week.
“My whole deal is that I want to get healthy,” Hutton said. “It’s been hard to deal with my foot these past few years, so hopefully they figure out what will fix it and hopefully it works. If it does, you guys are going to see a different player on the field for sure.”
