The University of the Pacific Tigers proved to be too much for the lady Aggies as they fell to 2-3 for the season Wednesday night in Stockton, Calif.

Fighting from the beginning to stay above water, USU went down 16-6 within the first nine minutes of play. From there, they managed to take a 27-26 lead at halftime.

The Aggies did not hold the lead for long. Phillips evened the score at 37, starting off the final 13 minutes of the game. Once the Aggies hit 49 points, their game was over despite a career-high three blocks by junior guard Jenny Gross.

Junior guard Taylor Richards led the Aggies with 19 field goals, nine of those coming from three 3-point shots. Richards was one of only two team members to hit double digits. Richards also posted six rebounds, along with the seven senior guard Camille Brox contributed, and senior forward Brittany Phillips scored 13 points.

USU concluded the game shooting a 38.2 field goal percentage, which was slightly higher than Pacific’s 36.7 percent. Free-throw percentage for the Aggies was 50 percent, 2-4 from the line.

This game marked the sixth meeting between the two teams. The Aggies dominated the last two meetings, and the series is now evened out at 3-3.

The Aggies will continue play on the road as they head to MIssoula, Mont., to face off against the University of Montana on Dec. 4. From there, they will travel to Bozeman, Mont., to play Montana State University on Dec. 6. Their travel schedule will then conclude with a trip to the University of Wyoming in Laramie, Wyo., on Dec. 17.

Returning to the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum on Dec. 20, the team will play the University of Portland at 7 p.m.
