LETTER: Be careful at crosswalks

For months I’ve been telling myself that I really should post a reminder to campus pedestrians. Those of us who drive to class or work have the same tight schedules as everyone else. Please have courtesy when using crosswalks. The blinking red hand icon means, “If you’re already in the crosswalk, hurry up and cross.” The steady red hand icon means “Stop. Do not cross.” Courtesy is especially important in bad weather, when roads are slick and visibility is impaired.
