LETTER: Don’t lose technology

Editor,

I fail to see the reasoning for eliminating almost all of the technology program. The dean of engineering hasn’t given one reason not to stick with the technology department, and I haven’t heard anyone else back up his decision.

He has been met with nothing but opposition and criticism from students. Why we students have no say in this decision about our own program? It’s ridiculous that one man can run a college with his own personal agenda. Personally, I think that it’s awfully odd that he’s decided to cut the aeronautic A&P program but leaves the flight program, unless, of course, he has a personal need for the flight program.

It is a huge step backward getting rid of these programs and he should give the students a better reason that he’s cutting them than that he feels that the engineering department is “going a different direction.”
