LETTER: Focus on the national issues
To the editor:
I am writing in response to the article that was published on the front page of The Statesman for the week of April 13 through the 19 about the turnaround in front of the TSC. This article was the biggest waste of time and money for The Statesman that I have yet seen. Most everyone realizes that the Statesman isn’t necessarily a very professional newspaper, but a story on a turnaround that covers almost the entire front page just turns the paper into joke. Surely there were more important stories of national or even international importance that would have been more appropriate than an expose on how to turn your car around.
I think the problem with The Statesman is that it doesn’t focus enough on bigger events such as the wars that we are currently involved in or the countries and events that might force us into more violence. Logan is a bubble. I would hope that the university’s newspaper wouldn’t reinforce this, but as of right now, it definitely is.
