LETTER: Get out to the meet

Editor,

I would like to encourage students and faculty to attend the USU gymnastics meet Friday at 11 a.m. against No. 14, Ohio State. It is unfortunate that the “gods that be” who make ludicrous $$ decisions $$ opted to bump our gymnastics team in favor of a $$ country music $$ concert. ?$$$?$$$?$$$

The gymnastics meet was scheduled far in advance of the concert. Large crowds give our athletes the home-team advantage, as was evidenced against rival BYU recently. By bumping our team to an 11 a.m. meet, the usual crowd of families who support the gymnastics team will not be able to attend.

Come on Aggie fans, support the ladies gymnastics team and protest the concert tonight. These athletes work incredibly hard and give 150 percent, making an outstanding team, though rarely do they receive the recognition and support they deserve. I plan to return tests and hold “class” in the Spectrum amid a lot of “Go Aggie” posters. Come join us, Aggie Fans!
