LETTER: Make informed decisions, votes

Dear Editor,

Utah State University students are privileged to have the opportunity to speak up this fall by helping to select the representation we will have in Utah’s First Congressional District. This is one of the things that makes America great: A republican form of government and the opportunity this affords all of us to choose our leaders peacefully.

This is not a benefit enjoyed by the majority of the world, but it is one we hold dear here in the United States.

It is important that as we participate in the electoral process, we are informed voters, that we have the opportunity to see where candidates stand on the issues and how these beliefs fit with our own. To achieve this end the USU College Republicans will be having a Meet the Candidates night in the Taggart Student Center Sunburst Lounge at 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Many of the candidates for the Republican nomination for Congress will be present to explain to you, the student body, how they feel about the issues and to give everyone the opportunity to talk to them personally. Come and learn about the candidates so we can all be better citizens and make better decisions on election day.
