LETTER: Nature should be enjoyed

Editor,

It is that time of year again, when leaves are changing colors, before they float softly to the ground. Nights are getting colder. It is a time to stop, to listen, to see, to feel, as the wonders of nature prepare for the coming winter. Many of the canyons have trails for people to take hikes for a few hours, or a day if they are very energetic, to enjoy these fall colors.

Nature also offers a great source of relaxation before or after an exam. To enjoy a quiet picnic with a scenic view of nature’s beauty makes a day a priceless moment. Take a special needs child fishing and watch their face light up with joy and fascination, even if they do not catch anything. Or just go for a ride through the canyons. Nature has so many things to offer if we will take the time to stop, see, listen and feel within the body, mind and soul.

However, as we venture out to enjoy nature, please remember to respect her by taking away only what you bring and to leave the rocks and plants as they are.
