LETTER: Parking easy if you pay

To the editor:

In her 27 October letter, Deborah Schippers said that “[finding] a parking spot on campus is just about as hard as trying to fly a kite without a string.” I park in the B lot adjacent to the NFS Building every day. I have never had a problem finding parking. Today I parked as close to the entrance as one legally could. True, the later I arrive the further east I park, but I have never seen the lot full.

I think what Ms Schippers really wants to say it that there isn’t enough free parking on campus. As I drive each morning to school from Smithfield I see the “bumper to bumper” parking along 800 East. Perhaps more people should pay the fee for a parking permit and have free access to the multiple lots located on campus. Unfortunately, now that we are adults, we live in the “real” world where not everything is free. Commodities come at a price.
