LETTER: Thanks for ovation

Dear Editor,

The Health, Physical Education and Recreation department, the USU Alumni Association and the Athletic department wish to commend the USU student body for the exciting standing ovation they gave to HPER department graduate Coach LaVell Edwards and his wife. They were thrilled. Coach Edwards was inducted into the HPER Hall of Fame Saturday afternoon and awards were presented to him that evening at halftime of the USU Basketball game. Since Coach Edwards had been at BYU for the past 29 years, there was some concern about how students would react during the presentation of the awards. A tremendous thanks goes to the great USU student body for their respectful and rousing reception.
