Letter to the Editor: Cigarette butts show lack of respect

Today as I was walking to the library I couldn’t help noticing that all of the raised planter boxes near the front door of the library are filled with cigarette butts. What makes it worse is that there is an ash tray or receptacle less than five feet from all of the butts. Can we have a little more respect for the campus and those around us?
