LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Icy sidewalks

Are you one of the owners of the thousands of feet that walk past Kappa Delta Sorority on your way up to campus every day?  Have you noticed that the short length of public sidewalk in from of the sorority house are frequently icy? I have walked that sidewalk for the past three years, five days a week and have seen many a fellow Aggie lose traction, throw their arms out for balance in a moment of desperation, and succumb to gravity’s cold embrace. Occasionally on that stretch of sidewalk the sorority members are selling hot chocolate for a reasonable price to fund a women’s shelter or child abuse prevention. I usually participate in their fundraiser, who doesn’t like hot chocolate? I wish the sorority would positively impact thousands of students who trudge to campus by fulfilling their legal obligation to clear their sidewalk. Perhaps I should start a fundraiser to raise money for snow shovels to empower sorority members to take action in their community. The least they could do is put up a webcam on their house facing the sidewalk so that the public could enjoy a compilation of students bruising knees, butts, and egos for all to enjoy.
