Letter to the Editor: Proud to display entire USU diploma

Krystal Plott

Dear Editor,

I am writing in response to Ms. Drake’s letter (11/16) in regard to having the words “In the year of our Lord” removed from her USU diploma.  While I think it’s great that USU was able to comply with her petty wish, I am curious if Ms. Drake has any problems spending dollar bills or coins that say “In God We Trust”.

Has she petitioned to have that inscription removed from her currency, or does she simply choose not to spend money since it goes against that which she does, or does not, believe? Certainly it is the same principle.

I am proud to display my USU diploma, and even more proud to know that I did indeed graduate “in the year of our Lord”.
