Letter to the Editor: Watching The O.C. is not the only option

In the recent article, watching television all the time is the main focus of the article, and how it is used to escape from reality. What happened to reading books?

I do not even have cable at my apartment and instead I have my bookshelves collapsing underneath the weight of the books I own. Watching shows like The O.C. is not the only way to escape from reality and I have always found a book better than watching a show that caters to pop culture.

While watching tv every so often is a great thing, it’s not the only way to make an escape and see how life is different from your own.
