LETTER: Turn on blue light for ladies

In our years here at Utah State, we have noticed something interesting. When the football team has won, the Aggie Blue Pride Light on Old Main has been lit up. When the men’s basketball team has won, the blue light has been lit. However, when we have tried to admire the blue light after the gymnastics team has won – nothing – no blue light for them. Or when we have tried to admire it after the women’s volleyball team has won (and this occurred most recently last Thursday night) – nothing for them either. Can someone please explain this discrepancy for us, or is it simply that here at Utah State University we only take pride in the men’s athletic accomplishments?
