LETTER: Upset about towing without warning
Beware the Logan Police! They are completely incompetent.
On June 24 my husband parked along 800 E for work, as usual. There were at least 10 other cars parked there as well. This has been free parking for many years. Then, suddenly this morning he gets a voicemail from an Officer, saying if he doesn’t come move his car right now, it’s going to be towed, because 800 E is now a no-parking zone! My husband works 4 am-12:30pm. The officer left the voicemail at 8 am. My husband doesn’t answer his cell at work, standard business policy. When he got a chance to listen to the voicemail, he immediately called back and was told too late, we already towed it.
I can’t believe this!! Watch out, people! Apparently, Logan City can randomly decide to declare a street a no parking zone and tow all the cars there! There won’t be any signs posted–you’ll just have to check your phone every 5 minutes to see if an officer has told you you have to sprint from work, your classes, your meeting, etc. to move your car RIGHT NOW or you’ll have it towed.
What’s even more inconvenient is you have to have two people to recover you car. I have a 7 wk old daughter and her car seat is in our car that got towed! So now I have to find a babysitter so both me and my husband can get our car back. Thanks a lot, Logan. Once again you prove your stupidity. The very least you could do is pay the towing fines for all the cars you towed on 800 E.
