LETTER: Why raise tuition rates
Editor,
I’ve been a student here for two years now. It seems like all I hear about is raising tuition. Here’s a novel idea, maybe someone can give it to the administration: Every year, once the school looks at it’s budget and sees that it needs to raise the tuition again, do it – to every incoming freshman or new transfer student the following year tuition will be higher than for those already enrolled in classes.
When I decided to come to school here it was under a pretense that I would pay X amount of dollars per semester for my education. Shouldn’t that be binding? I planned on it and if my tuition goes up I need a higher-paying job, which is hard to come by here in Logan. No matter what, I have to pay my tuition fees if I want to take classes. I think I deserve something in return for my keeping up my end of the bargain. Leave my tuition alone and let all new students agree to pay more for their education.
