Utah State men’s basketball releases non-conference schedule

Utah State’s men’s basketball unveiled its 14-game non-conference slate Wednesday afternoon.

The Aggies will play their first game in an exhibition at home against Evergreen State. That will be one of seven games played at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum in Logan. The other six home opponents are Hartford (Nov. 9), Mississippi Valley State (Nov. 13), Utah Valley (Nov. 16), Northern Iowa (Nov. 28), Alabama State (Dec. 15) and Eastern Oregon (Dec. 28).

USU’s season will officially begin on the road against Montana State. It will be the fourth season in a row Utah State has started the regular season on the road (the last season opener at home was played Nov. 14, 2014, a 72-61 win over Weber State). The Bobcats went 13-19 in the 2017-18 season including a 73-81 loss to the Aggies in Logan.

Including Montana State, the Aggies will play seven non-conference road games. After the three-game home stand against Hartford, MVSU and UVU, officially part of the the MGM Resorts Main Event, Utah State will play Saint Mary’s on Nov. 19 and will then play either Arizona State or Mississippi State on Nov. 21.

Following the home game against Northern Iowa, the team will go in its longest road trip of the non-conference schedule, traveling first to UC Irvine (Dec. 1) before returning to Provo to play BYU (Dec. 5) and then play a game in Vivint Smart Home Arena against Weber State in the second annual Beehive Classic. The final road game will be at Houston on Dec. 20.
