Moore not an authority

In response to Scott Dewey’s letter from the Oct 25th issue. Mr. Dewey, I guess you forgot that the conservative side got Sean Hannity to come and speak in Orem last week too. As far as I understand from listening to his radio show everyday is that he holds no elected office either, so why did the conservatives have him come and talk there like he is an authority on anything? If you listen to his radio show, he is the direct mouthpiece for the republican party- that is all he is, period! He never has any ideas that will make this country better, he just lip sinks the words that “W” and Cheney speak.

Your letter shows that Utahans in general show very little regard for outside thinkers or someone with a different view than there own. If Joseph Smith showed up here in Utah tomorrow, saying the same kinds of things he said many years ago he would be thrown out of this state so fast even the New Yorkers and the Illinoisans would take note and feel bad.

This country was founded on having different ideas and the freedom to share them, your letter shows what a narrow minded view of the country you have! It would be a sad time in our country if the only people that could say anything at election time were the politicians because you can’t believe half of what they say now!
