Music concerts open to public

Middle and high school students from around the region travel to Utah State University to take part in the department of music’s Summer Music Clinic, and many of the student concerts are open to the public. Performances by guest groups are also open to the public at a minimal charge.

Here’s an overview of the concert schedule. All events are free unless noted.

Tuesday, June 15, Leaping Lulu concert, 7 p.m., Kent Concert Hall, Chase Fine Arts Center, $3 general admission.

Wednesday, June 16, Utah State Student Showcase, 7 p.m., Kent Concert Hall, Chase Fine Arts Center.

Thursday, June 17, Larry Smith Big Band, 7 p.m., Kent Concert Hall, Chase Fine Arts Center, $3 general admission.

Friday, June 18, 1 p.m., String Chamber Music, Tippetts Exhibition Hall, Chase Fine Arts Center; 2:30 p.m., Wind Chamber Music, Tippetts Exhibition Hall; 7 p.m., Clinic Jazz Band and Honors Soloists, Kent Concert Hall.

Saturday, June 19, 1 p.m., Clinic Band and Orchestra Finale Concert, Kent Concert Hall.
