NBA Power Rankings – Week 11

 

  1. Denver Nuggets 26-11 UP 3

Denver takes the top spot in the rankings after a 3-0 week. The Nuggets lead the west in win percent and are looking stacked lately. Denver has a very busy week with games against Houston Miami, the Los Angeles Clippers, Phoenix and Portland.

  1. Golden State Warriors 26-14 DOWN 1

Golden State went 2-1 last week with a tough loss to Houston. Kevin Durant gave us one of the worst missed calls in NBA history when he took four steps out of bounds before “saving” the ball that lead to a Steph Curry jumper to put the Warriors up by two before James Harden hit a 3-pointer to beat them. The Warriors take on New York, Chicago and Dallas this week.

  1. Toronto Raptors 27-11

Toronto beat three solid teams last week in Utah, Milwaukee and Indiana but lost Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green’s homecoming game in San Antonio. The Raptors take on Atlanta, Brooklyn and Washington this week.

  1. Milwaukee Bucks 27-11 DOWN 2

Milwaukee went 2-1 last week with its loss coming against Toronto. Giannis Antetokounmpo had 43 points in the loss, his second 40-point game of the season. Milwaukee takes on Utah, Houston, Washington and Atlanta this week.

  1. Oklahoma City Thunder 25-14

Oklahoma City started the week strong with wins over Dallas, the Los Angeles Laker, and Portland but lost to the lowly Wizards to end its week. The Thunder play Minnesota then San Antonio twice this week.

  1. Indiana Pacers 26-13

Indiana beat Atlanta and Chicago this week before losing to Toronto on Sunday to end its week. Indiana takes on Cleveland, Boston and New York this week.

  1. Philadelphia 76ers 26-14 SAME

Jimmy Butler reportedly challenged head coach Brett Brown to get him more involved in the offense this week. Butler is somewhat of option 2B for the team right now and wants to be the first option it seems. Philadelphia plays Washington twice before taking on Atlanta and New York this week.

  1. San Antonio Spurs 23-17 UP 6

The Spurs gave a tribute to Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green in their return to the city then promptly defeated the Raptors. San Antonio plays Detroit and Memphis then Oklahoma City twice this week.

  1. Houston Rockets 22-16 SAME

Houston overcame a horrible missed out-of-bounds call on Kevin Durant late in its game against Golden State when James Harden nailed a 3-pointer with one second left for the win. Houston takes on Denver, Milwaukee, Cleveland and Orlando this week.

  1. Boston Celtics 23-15 DOWN 2

Boston beat Minnesota and Dallas this week but fell to San Antonio. Boston plays Brooklyn, Indiana, Miami and Orlando this week.

  1. Los Angeles Clippers 23-16 DOWN 1

Los Angeles beat Orlando and Phoenix but lost to the 76ers last week. The Clippers have a short week with games against Charlotte, Denver and Detroit.

  1. Portland Trail Blazers 23-17 DOWN 1

Portland beat Sacramento and a good Houston team last week but lost a close game to Oklahoma City. They should look into moving CJ McCollum. Portland takes on New York, Chicago, Charlotte and Denver this week.

  1. Utah Jazz 20-20 DOWN 1

Utah is finally .500 again after beating Cleveland and Detroit to end its week. Utah plays the Bucks, Magic, Lakers and Bulls this week.

  1. Miami Heat 19-19

Miami beat Cleveland and Washington this week but somehow lost to Atlanta on Sunday to end the week. Miami takes on Denver, Boston and Memphis this week.

  1. Los Angeles Lakers 21-19 DOWN 2

Los Angeles went 0-3 last week against Oklahoma City, New York and Minnesota. The team is really hurting without LeBron James. The Lakers have a busy week with games against Dallas, Detroit, Utah and Cleveland.

  1. Brooklyn Nets 20-21 UP 3

Brooklyn beat New Orleans, Memphis and Chicago to finish its week 3-0. Brooklyn takes on Boston, Atlanta and Toronto this week.

  1. Charlotte Hornets 19-20

Charlotte went 2-2 last week with wins over Orlando and Phoenix but lost to Dallas and Denver. Charlotte plays the Clippers, Blazers and Kings this week.

  1. Minnesota Timberwolves 19-21 UP 2

Minnesota fired coach Tom Thibodeau on Sunday after a win. The Wolves reportedly are interested in Fred Hoiberg and Monty Williams for the position. Minnesota takes on Oklahoma City, Dallas and New Orleans.

  1. Sacramento Kings 19-20 DOWN 4

Sacramento finished its week 0-3 against Portland, Denver and Golden State. The team can’t seem to get the signature win needed for a playoff push just yet. The Kings take on Orlando, Phoenix, Detroit and Charlotte this week.

  1. Dallas Mavericks 18-21 UP 3

The first wave of All-Star voting was released, and Luka Doncic was second in Western Conference frontcourt voting behind only LeBron James. Should Doncic make it, he would be the first rookie All-Star since Blake Griffin in 2011. Dallas plays the Lakers, Suns, Timberwolves and Warriors this week.

  1. Memphis Grizzlies 18-21 DOWN 5

Memphis reportedly is parting ways with Chandler Parsons this week. Parsons has only played 72 games in the over-two seasons he has spent with the team and is still owed roughly $49 million. Memphis plays New Orleans, San Antonio and Miami this week.

  1. New Orleans Pelicans 18-22 SAME

New Orleans needs to start looking into making a move to a rebuild with the way this season has gone. That starts with an Anthony Davis trade. New Orleans takes on Memphis, Cleveland and Minnesota this week.

  1. Detroit Pistons 17-20 DOWN 2

Detroit lost to Milwaukee and Utah this week but beat the struggling Grizzlies. Blake Griffin is averaging a career high 28 points per game this season. Detroit has a busy week with games against the Spurs, Lakers, Kings and Clippers.

  1. Orlando Magic 17-22 SAME

The Magic dropped games against Charlotte, Minnesota and the Los Angeles Clippers but managed to beat Chicago last week. Orlando takes on Sacramento, Utah, Boston and Houston this week.

  1. Washington Wizards 16-24

Washington finished its week 2-1 while beating Atlanta and Oklahoma City but lost to Miami. The Wizards play Philadelphia twice this week before taking on Milwaukee and Toronto.

  1. Atlanta Hawks 12-27

Atlanta finished its cruddy week strong by beating Miami after having lost to Indiana, Washington and Milwaukee. Atlanta plays Toronto, Brooklyn, Philadelphia and Milwaukee this week.

  1. New York Knicks 10-29 UP 3

New York lost to Denver but managed to beat the Lakers last week. New York plays Portland, Golden State, Indiana and Philadelphia this week.

  1. Chicago Bulls 10-30 DOWN 1

Chicago has turned into a slow-paced post team and it hasn’t worked out. The Bulls went 0-3 last week. Chicago takes on Portland, Golden State and Utah this week.

  1. Phoenix Suns 9-32

Phoenix struggled this week, losing to Golden State, Philadelphia, the Los Angeles Clippers, and Charlotte. Phoenix plays Sacramento, Dallas and Denver this week.

  1. Cleveland Cavaliers 8-32 DOWN 1

Cleveland is just 1-9 over its past ten and went 0-3 last week. The Cavaliers have tough week against Indiana, New Orleans, Houston and the Los Angeles Lakers.
