OUR VIEW: Health Center should be used
Your head is pounding, your bones ache and you can’t stop sneezing. The expired cold medicine your mom stocked you up on three years ago when you moved out, the herbal concoction your roommate insists will work and the 10 gallons of orange juice you’ve downed have done nothing to help. All you want is to feel better, but you can’t possibly afford the trip to the doctor.
Except you can.
Visits to the Student Health and Wellness Center, located just north of the Stadium, are already covered by your student fees. By just showing your ID card, USU students can receive medical attention. Additional services, including strep tests, X-rays or prescriptions are provided to students at low costs, sometimes even below the price they would get with their parents’ insurance.
The Student Health and Wellness Center is one of the organizations that makes USU unique when it comes to putting students first. The care provided is unparalleled by other education institutions in the state, and the center is strongly supported by the administration. They know its hard for students to perform well when they don’t feel good. From antibiotics to birth control, students should take advantage of a service they’ve already paid for.
