OUR VIEW: Keep Halloween and Howl safe
The annual Howl Saturday will bring in a large number of students to Logan, not only from Utah State, but from universities throughout Utah.
With the influx of bodies on campus comes the potential for an increased number of problems and safety issues.
To avoid these problems, there are a few things Howl patrons can do.
* Ask yourself how much you’ve had to drink. Is that too much? And if it is too much, are you obnoxious when you’ve had too much to drink? And if so, should you leave? To which, the answer is probably “yes.”
* When you leave, walk – don’t drive.
Ladies, the line for soda may seem long, but if you happen to leave your drink unattended it might be time well spent to get a new one.
* If you’re confronted by an authority figure – campus police or otherwise – ask yourself if you have money for bail, or if you should just comply with their requests.
If you ask yourself these questions Saturday night, you’ll be free to ponder more pressing matters. Like whether or not angel wings and underwear really constitute a costume – which they don’t.
Or, if the girl wearing the costume has any idea of just how cold it is outside – which she does.
The Howl party. It’s designed for students to have a good time. By acting civil and taking proper precautions, you’ll ensure that you and those around you will have an enjoyable time.
