April 5, 2002 Utah State University campus police responded to a traffic accident in the west Romney Stadium parking lot. Minor injuries were reported and damage is estimated at $5,500.

Campus police received a complaint that a student has been running out into the road and purposely interfering with traffic. Police are investigating.

April 6, 2002 Campus police responded to San Juan Hall on a report of alcohol. The individuals involved were all of legal age, so they were warned about the university’s policy on alcohol use on campus.

April 7, 2002 Campus police responded to 800 N. 700 East to assist Logan City officers with a fight in progress. One individual was arrested.

April 8, 2002 An individual advised campus police of an abandoned bicycle by the Science and Technology Library. It will be tagged for removal in one week.

An individual reported to police she observed two children in a vehicle who did not appear to be wearing seat belts. The driver of the vehicle was located at home and asked to verify that the occupants of her vehicle always keep their seat belts on.

An individual reported smelling a chemical similar to paint thinner in the Biology and Natural Resources Building. Campus police found the smell was coming from an individual painting in the basement of the building.

Campus police stopped three individuals who were jumping bikes on the steps in front of the Eccles Business Building. Two of the individuals were warned and the other was given a fine and had his bike impounded.April 9, 2002 Campus police responded to Mountain View Tower on a complaint of smoke. The smell came from a resident who had burned soup in the microwave. No police action was taken.

Campus police assisted a resident of Aggie Village in keeping the peace in a domestic dispute. No further action was taken.

Police received a report of credit card fraud. An individual reported to police his credit card number and e-mail address had been used by an unknown person to purchase items over the Internet. Up to $1,000 was illegally charged to his card.

April 10, 2002 Campus police responded to Mountain View Tower on a call a truck was blocking a garbage can. The vehicle had moved prior to police arriving.

An individual reported the theft of his backpack which was left overnight in the Engineering Laboratory Building. The backpack contained a few items of value including textbooks.

Police received a complaint from an individual who stated he was almost hit by an object thrown at him near the Science and Technology Library. No description was given of the individuals throwing objects, and they were not located.

April 11, 2002 Campus police responded to Mountain View Tower on a report of fireworks being used in the area north of the building. The subjects had left the area before police arrived.

Campus police responded to a traffic hazard on Highway 89 near campus. An individual reported three branches on the road were causing a hazard. Police cleared the branches.
