Jan. 2
* The Cache County Sheriff’s Office requested the assistance of the Utah State University Bomb Squad with some old dynamite that had been found. The dynamite was transported to an open area and destroyed.
Jan. 3
* A student reported that his motorcycle had been knocked over in the Moen Hall parking lot sometime during the Winter Break. Police are attempting to determine how this happened.* Campus police responded to Valley View Tower on a fire alarm caused by an individual burning something plastic in the microwave in the lobby of the fourth floor.* Campus police responded to Student Health Services to talk to some students about riding rails with snowboards. The students were warned and will be charged with trespassing if found riding the rails again.
Jan. 5
* Campus police responded on the report of a minor traffic accident. A USU shuttle bus collided with a parked vehicle.
Jan. 6
* Campus police assisted an individual in finding her car.
Jan. 7
* Logan City police received a report of a stray dog that would not allow the mail carrier to approach the residence. * A caller reported to Logan City police that items were taken by ex-roommates. * Logan City police received a call from a woman who stated someone has used her information to obtain a storage shed in Logan. She stated that it occurred approximately three years ago.* An individual reported to Logan City police a smell of gas in the women’s rest room at the Logan City Recreation Center.
Jan. 8
* Campus police received a report of a traffic hazard where a large amount of snow was blocking the right-hand turn lane. Police assisted a snowplow with traffic control while it cleared the snow and reopened the lane. * Campus police responded to an intrusion alarm at the Observatory. The building was secure and there were no footprints in the freshly covered snow. * Logan City police received a report of a garbage truck disabled in an intersection.* A caller stated to Logan City police that there was a black and brown short-haired dog that was running loose and barking at passersby. * An individual reported to Logan City police that people in an apartment had been shooting bottle rockets at the Garden Court Apartments and were causing a lot of noise.* Logan City police received a report of a 92-year-old male with breathing problems. Police found the man had hiccups. * A caller stated to Logan City police that he thinks Icon is being robbed through the mail.
