Police assisted Logan city Police with traffic control at the intersection of 400 N. and 600 East while fire personnel extinguished a brush fire in the area.
Police responded to the HPER Building to check the welfare of a small child sitting alone on the steps of the building. The parents of the child were located and later arrived to pick up the child. The child had been waiting on the steps after gymnastics class was canceled.

Police responded to a stuck elevator at Mountain View Tower.

Police responded with Logan City Fire Department to an appliance fire in Summit Hall. The resident in the room put the fire out before fire units arrived. Damage to the room was limited to cosmetic damage to the kitchen cabinets.
Monday, August 27, 2001
Police responded to a report of a bat on the Industrial Science Building. The bat was removed by a Logan City Animal Control officer.
Police and Logan City paramedics responded to assist an individual who accidentally stepped in fresh tar in an Aggie Village parking lot. The victim was treated at the scene and released.
Police responded to a report of property damage at the Science and Technology Library. A white male with short hair and sideburns, wearing a gray shirt and brown pants was seen leaving the library in an agitated mood. On the way out, he kicked a USA Today vending machine causing $350 in damage.

Police responded to an alarm at the Taggart Student Center Computer Lab. It was found that a custodian had set off the alarm. No further action was taken.

Police received a report of a suicidal individual at 2:45 a.m. Police responded and transported the individual to the hospital for further evaluations.
Police received a report of a University-owned table being used as a ramp to jump bicycles on the east side of Old Main. When police arrived, the individuals using the table had left the area. The table, which belongs to the TSC will need to be replaced due to damage.
Police warned an individual for bringing a dog on campus.
Police received a report of an attempted burglary to a vehicle. An individual who had left his window partially down found burglary tools inside his car which were used in an attempt to unlock his door. Nothing was reported missing and no damage was done to the vehicle.
Police received a report of a vehicle driving on Old Main Hill. The vehicle was not located and no significant damage was found when police arrived.
