Jan. 27, 2002Police responded to a fire alarm in Wasatch Hall. A resident was found to have burned food in their oven. No damage was done to the oven or the apartment.
Jan. 28, 2002USU Police assisted several motorists who became stuck due to heavy snowfall.
Police responded to the Aggie Village Town Homes parking lot on a report of a traffic accident. A snowplow hit a parked car, causing approximately $900 damage.
Police responded to Old Main Hill on a report of a lewdness incident.
Police responded to Mountain View Tower on a report of a stolen sign from Old Main Hill in a room. Police confiscated the sign and informed the resident that his actions may result in criminal prosecution.
Jan. 29, 2002Police responded to a fire alarm at the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory. The alarm was activated by exhaust from a snow blower.
Police responded to the observatory on an intrusion alarm. When police arrived they were able to tell that no one had been in the area, due to the recent snow. The alarm was reset without further incident.
Police responded to the Merrill Library about the theft of a desk. Investigation is continuing.
USU Police responded to the Research Park on a report of visible flames in the area. The flames were from propane heaters located in the construction area south of Research Park.
Jan. 30, 2002Police responded to the Parking Terrace on a traffic accident. A vehicle struck another vehicle as it was driving up a down ramp. The driver on the wrong ramp was found to be at fault and was cited for driving on the wrong side of the road.
A vehicle was struck in the engineering parking lot. The vehicle causing the accident then left the scene.
Police responded to an intrusion alarm in the USU Bookstore. Police checked the area and no problems were found. Bookstore personnel were notified of the alarm.
Jan. 31, 2002Police detained and questioned an individual who was reported to have acted in a disorderly manner in the Parking Office. The individual was warned that his actions were unacceptable and that he should act appropriately in the future.
Police responded to a possible theft in Mountain View Tower. A street sign was found hanging in the room and one student was arrested.
Police responded to a report of a small child with his finger stuck in the escalator at the Spectrum. The child’s hand was freed and his father took him to the Emergency Room at Logan Regional Hospital for medical attention.
Police responded to two glass doors that had been shattered at the HPER Building and Eccles Jones Education Building. The doors appeared to have been shattered by someone using marbles as projectiles.
