Police Blotter for March 18

Saturday, March 7

• USU Police observed a couple attempt to enter the Spectrum for the men’s basketball game without paying. Police stopped the couple and identified them. Police investigated the incident.

Sunday, March 8

• USU Police were called to the horse arena on a theft of hay.

Monday, March 9

• USU Police responded to the Technology building for a report of a noise coming from the building. There were no noises found that sounded out of place outside the building. Police monitored the area throughout the day. No further action was taken by police.

• USU Police responded to a report of a suspicious person at the Living and Learning Center. It was discovered that the individual was a new resident. No further action was taken.
Tuesday, March 10

• USU Police were called to a juvenile problem in the Ray B. West parking lot. Complainant stated he saw a car drop a little girl off and then drive away. The officer arrived and met with the girl who stated her mother dropped her off for preschool, but the doors were locked, so she tried to chase her mother down. That’s when the complainant saw the girl and called police. The officer contacted the girl’s mother and advised her of the school being shut down for Spring Break. The mother returned to campus and picked up her daughter.

• USU Police responded to a suspicious incident on 800 East near 800 North. Upon arrival, police located a set of house keys in one of the meters. The meter was undamaged so police secured the keys at the Public Safety building.

Thursday, March 12

• USU Police assisted Logan Police with searching for an individual who ran from a Logan officer.
• An individual called the police to report that a digital camera and carrying case were stolen from their vehicle while it was parked in the south NFS parking lot. Police are investigating.

• USU Police responded to the south side of the Forage and Range building on a parking problem. The driver of the improperly parked vehicle came out and moved his vehicle shortly after the officer arrived.

Friday, March 13

• USU Police responded to the area of 1200 East and 1050 North on a stray dog complaint. Logan’s Animal Control was called out and the owner was located and responded to take possession of the dog.

• Police responded to the Valley View Towers on a fire alarm. The alarm was activated by a resident who was cooking food in a microwave. The alarm was silenced and reset without any further problems.
