Police Blotter for past week

Friday, Jan. 12

• Police received a call from a concerned parent who had not been able to contact his son for several days. The individual was located and asked to call home.

• An NEC Liquid Crystal Projector valued at $6,307 was stolen from Room 130 in the Jones Education building.

Saturday, Jan. 13

• Police responded to 644 E. 600 North to assist the Logan City Police Department with a noisy house party. The individuals at the party were informed to turn down the music they were playing.• A 14-year-old male was cited for driving with no driver’s license.

• Police responded to assist RAs on a weapons offense. Several swords that are in violation of housing policy concerning weapons were confiscated. The swords will be returned when the student has made arrangements to store them off campus.

Tuesday, Jan. 16

• Police received a report of a stolen CD player, various CDs and an RCA brand VCR that were stolen from a vehicle in the Mountain View Tower parking lot.

• Police responded to Moen Hall to pick up a cat that had been hit by a car and died shortly thereafter.

• Police responded to Valley View Tower on a report of a traffic sign in one of the dorm rooms. A crosswalk sign was confiscated and a resident of the room was cited for wrongful appropriation.

• Police responded to Old Main Hill on a report of two people, possibly intoxicated, who were attempting to use a shopping cart to ride down the hill. When officers arrived, two males fled from the police and were not apprehended.

Wednesday, Jan. 17

• Police received a report of an individual taking a parking space when another individual was waiting for it.

• Police received a report of a vehicle being broken into in the Mountain View Tower northeast parking lot. Approximately $8,500 worth of CDs and stereo equipment were stolen or damaged.

• A student reported an act of lewdness that occured in the Lundstrom Student Living Center. Charges are being filed against the individual involved in the incident.

• Police responded to a report of a barking dog inside a vehicle that was parked in the lot at approximately 445 N. 700 East. The owner returned from class shortly thereafter and left with the dog.
