Police blotter: news from the campus and community

April 9

* An individual turned in to the police department two DVDs that had been found.

* Utah State University Campus Police were contacted about a Wal-Mart shopping cart next to the Aggie Village laundry facility. The cart was picked up and returned to Wal-Mart.

* An individual reported losing her Verizon Audiovox cell phone somewhere in the Business Building. Police documented the incident and are helping her in finding her phone.

* An individual reported that someone stole a stereo, a tool set, a camera and CDs from his vehicle. Police are investigating.

April 10

* Campus police responded to a report of an individual shooting paintballs. The individual was contacted and warned.

April 11

* Campus police responded to a theft in the women’s restroom at The Junction. Police could not find anyone who fit the description of the suspects at the time.

* Campus police observed violations of the sidewalk policy. Two bicycles were impounded.

* Campus police received a report of a suspicious incident from a resident living in Mountain View Tower. Police are investigating.

* Campus police responded to an elevator alarm at Mountain View Tower. Upon arrival, no one was stuck inside and the elevator was functioning properly. No further action was taken.

April 12

* Campus police responded to 1000 North and 800 East at the request of a motorist who stated that there were ducks in the roadway. Police responded and found no ducks located in the area.

* Campus police responded to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 1000 North and 1200 East where four vehicles were racing in the parking lot. Police met with the vehicle owners and passengers. The individuals were conducting a speed test.

April 13

* Campus police responded to a telephone harassment complaint. Police are investigating.

* A motorist made a complaint concerning one of the Aggie Shuttle buses cutting them off in traffic. The matter is being investigated.

* Campus police responded to a cat trapped in a retention hole on the east side of the Biology Natural Resource Building. The cat was able to get out on its own.

* Campus police responded to a backpack theft report at the USU Bookstore. The backpack is dark green and the brand name is Eddie Bauer. Police are investigating.

* Campus police responded to the Quad on a complaint of a female sun bathing in a very skimpy bikini top and bottom. Police resolved the situation.
