POLICE BLOTTER: Oct. 7 – Oct. 13
Friday, Oct. 7
• USU Police responded to a graffiti incident in the area of the SER building. Police found graffiti on the metal art piece south of the building.
• USU Police received a report of a subject walking around Aggie Village at 3 a.m. with a flashlight peering in porch areas.
• USU Police received a delayed report of a criminal mischief incident in Aggie Village. Sometime during the night someone kicked the door on a parked vehicle and dented it. There is a shoe print on the door where it was kicked.
• USU Police received a delayed report of a lost Cannon camera. A student reported that her camera was missing from her friends vehicle.
• USU Police responded to an elevator alarm where 12 USU students were stuck on the elevator in the Aggie Terrace after they all boarded the elevator and then one of them jumped while it was in motion and the elevator got stuck. Police warned them about causing stress on the elevator due to overcrowding.
Saturday, Oct. 8
• USU Police responded to an intrusion alarm at the computer lab in the Taggart Student Center. The alarm was activated by an employee who was opening the lab for the day. The alarm was disarmed without any further action.
• USU Police responded to a fire alarm at Davis Hall. Upon arrival it was discovered that the alarm was activated by an individual who left a quesadilla frying in a pan in the kitchen and walked away from it, allowing it to burn.
• USU Police had an individual walk into the Command Post at the USU vs Wyoming football game who had an estimated 2nd degree burn to his foot from hot water. A Logan Paramedic treated the individual and released him to his mother.
• USU Police responded to a suspicious activity incident at the New Engineering building. Police made contact with five juveniles inside the building. Police told the individuals to leave the building and campus.
Sunday, Oct. 9
• USU Police assisted the North Park Police with a citizen assist at the St Aquinas church in North Logan. Upon officers’ arrival the parties had separated and one had left the area.
Monday, Oct. 10
• USU Police responded to the Edith Bowen School for a report of a bird in the building. The bird could not be located when police arrived.
Tuesday, Oct. 11
• Police and two Facilities employees investigated a smell of natural gas near the Center for Persons with Disabilities. The area was searched, but no odor was found.
• Police impounded a male short haired German Shepherd puppy that was found wondering between Old Main and the TSC.
• USU Police are investigating a theft that occurred in the north end zone Laub Building. A Western Digital 500 gig hard drive was stolen out of one of the offices. The hard drive was later found in another office.
• USU Police received a report of a stolen laptop from a bathroom on the first floor in Old Main. A student left the laptop on the counter then left, came back and it was gone.
Wednesday, Oct. 12
• USU Police observed three males running up 800 East toward 1000 North in running shoes and shorts at 2 a.m. when it was about 45 degrees. Police thought this was suspicious and followed the three. Police caught one of the males climbing up on the Aggie Bull still dressed. After contacting them, two of the males admitted to thinking about climbing up on the bull naked.
• USU Police responded to the Living Learning Center for a report of drug paraphernalia. The investigation is ongoing.
Thursday, Oct. 13
• USU Police responded to the Engineering Lab Building for a fire alarm. Police investigated and found that there was no fire and the cause of the alarm is believed to have been dust in the duct system.
• USU Police received a report of a person calling a radio station on campus and harassing the DJ during a fundraising pledge. Police were able to contact this person by telephone and warn them that their actions were illegal. The caller promised to make no further calls.
• USU Police responded to Romney Stadium where it was reported someone was throwing or launching water balloons on the football stadium where intramural flag football was being played.
