Produce is at its prime at CV Gardner’s Market
If you haven’t stopped by the Cache Valley Gardeners’ Market recently, now is the time. The Market’s new location, at Merlin Olsen Park, is a gorgeous, shady setting and summer produce is at its prime. Local fruit available now includes blueberries, apricots, and raspberries. Additionally, melons, squash, beets, brocolli, garlic, onions, peppers, beans, tomatoes, potatoes, carrots, corn and eggplant grown by neigborhood gardeners is available for purchase. The Market has grown tremendously over the years and now offers a one-stop shopping experience, as farm-fresh lamb, locally raised trout, eggs, home-made cheese, ice cream, fresh-squeezed lemonade, bread and pastries can all be purchased on site. Local artisans make up a large percentage of the 120 vendors affiliated with the Gardeners’ Market, so stay and shop for hand-made goat’s milk soap, jewelry, clothing and more. In perfect time for school to start, Global Village Gifts will teach children how to make bookmarks on Saturday, August 16. This free craft activity for children is part of the Art Attack series at the Gardeners’ Market. As the children are having fun, adults will be amazed by the talent of local musician, Ryan Conger as he performs on the keyboard. The Cache Valley Gardeners’ Market is now located at Merlin Olsen Park, at 100 South and 200 East in downtown Logan. The Market is held on Saturday mornings, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Market is easily accessed from LTD routes 3 and 10. For more information about the Market, please check the website at www.gardenersmarket.org or stop by the information booth on the west side of the park. Note that the Wednesday mid-week Gardeners’ Market has started for the 2008 season. This produce market is located at Cache County Courthouse, located at 200 North Main in downtown Logan. The Market runs from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesdays through October. Please come support this new venue that is ag only!
