QB admits smoking marijuana on campus

ran into more legal troubles Monday night, when police say the freshman admitted to smoking marijuana in a teammate’s on-campus dormitory.

USU Lt. Steve Milne said officers responded to the Richards Hall dorm room of Aggie wide receiver Dionte Holloway on a complaint of marijuana odor.

“Officers spoke with Dionte and smelled the odor,” Milne said. “Dionte admits to having smoked marijuana and officers search the room, and a small amount of marijuana is found.”

Milne said officers saw Walker leaving the residence and made contact with him after speaking with Holloway. Milne said Walker admitted to having smoked marijuana with Holloway that night.

Both players have been charged with Class A misdemeanors for possession of an illegal substance. A third player, 20-year-old running back Chris Forbes, was cited with a Class B misdemeanor for being a minor in possession of alcohol, after police found alcohol in his bedroom during the search.

Walker was suspended from the team last week after he allegedly raped a 20-year-old student in his on-campus residence April 9. Mike Strauss, director of media relations for the USU athletics department, said both Walker and Holloway have now been dismissed from the team completely.

Walker, a freshman from Houston, Texas, played in nine games last season, starting the final two after quarterback Leon Jackson went down with a shoulder injury. Walker completed 53 of 76 passes for 653 yards and six touchdowns, while also rushing 96 times for 328 yards and another score.

Holloway, a sophomore from Cerritos, Calif., transferred to USU from Fresno City Junior College. He played in six games and caught 10 passes for 194 yards.
