Recent USU graduate killed in car crash

A recent USU graduate from Ogden was killed in a car crash in Custer County, Idaho around 7 p.m. Friday.

Travis Randall, 25, was riding in the bed of a 1966 Chevrolet pickup driving eastbound on Mine Hill Road near Mackay, Idaho when the driver lost control of the vehicle, according to Idaho State Police. The pickup veered off the road, rolled and landed on the passenger side.

Travis Randall, 25, was an MIS graduate at Utah State. He was an organizer of HackUSU and a leader of the Student Tech Council.

The pickup was not equipped with seatbelts and all occupants were ejected. Randall died at the scene.

Bridget Woodbury, 18, of Mackay, Idaho, was driving the pickup with Brooke Woodbury, 21, of Logan, riding in the passenger side. Austin Mortensen, 24, of Washington was also riding in the bed of the pickup.

The three other occupants were transported by helicopter to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.

Randall graduated in May 2016 with a management information systems degree. He was a HackUSU organizer and was on the board of directors of the Student Tech Council.
