S. Michael Young Valedictorian
S. Michael Young is graduating as valedictorian from the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business with a dual major in finance and economics with a minor in international business and personal financial planning.
Young said he will be continuing his education in the fall doing the MBA program at the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business.
Young said his favorite professors are Vance Grange and Dwight Israelsen.
He said, “As far professors that have shown genuine concern and interest, they are right up there.”
For the future, Young said he is interested in entrepreneurship and wants to start his own company, particularly a horse riding school as well as a horse therapy program to provide equine assistance psychotherapy. Right now, he said he is teaching horse riding lessons and doing horse training as well. Young also does classical dressage as well as jumping.
Young said he has been working on an idea he called “Project E-Venture,” to give MBA students a chance to form their own companies. He has been working on this project since January and hopes to have it ready by the fall he said. The plan for the first year is to set up a new entrepreneurial center that has been proposed to be built with the new school of business building.
