STATE YOUR CASE: USU

TYLER HUSKINSON

If you read my recap or heard anything about the game between Utah State and Weber State, you probably think I am crazy or terribly misled.

However, Utah State is still the best team in the state. They may be inexperienced and haven’t quite learned what it takes to win on the road, but at the end of the day, Utah State is still better.

Rival games are always crazy and tend to bring out big performances from players — especially those playing in front of a home crowd.

Brockeith Pane did it last Friday against Brigham Young and Scott Bamforth did it Tuesday night against USU. The Aggies made Bamforth look like the Pacers’ legendary long-distance specialist Reggie Miller.

Teams will wise up to the 3-point shooting of Weber State and, quite honestly, they didn’t prove they could do anything else. Their post game was lacking. Aside from Lillard, no one seemed to be able to create their own shot.

USU is more talented and more athletic than any team in the state. Once the team gains experience, it will be a force to be reckoned with.
