Utah Statesman: Why did you choose Utah State University?

Kenzie Hoopes: My sisters all went here. And I got a scholarship for academics.

US: What’s your favorite thing about USU?

Hoopes: I like the people, well most of the people, that I’ve met so far.US: What’s you’re least favorite thing?

Hoopes: It’s so cold. I know [I’m from Idaho] but I still hate it.

US: What are some of your hobbies?

Hoopes: Basketball and softball. I like played both of them along with volleyball when I was in high school. I was first base in softball, power forward in basketball and a left side hitter in volleyball. Now that I’m here I snowboard and mostly like hang out with my friends.

US: Who is your hero?

Hoopes: Probably, oh my gosh, that’s hard. Probably my mom, just `cause she always has the right things to say at the right time at the right time. Plus she has a lot of experience so she has a lot of advice and stuff.

US: If you could stalk any celebrity, who would it be and why?

Hoopes: Probably Matthew McConaughey. He’s definitely not goofy looking. I would just like to see if he’s really as sweet and romantic as he plays in all his movies.

US: If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

Hoopes: I don’t know. Probably to know what other people are thinking. That way you could like, know what other people thought about you. I just think in would be cool to know.

US: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Hoopes: I always wanted to be a business lady. I would like to have my own accounting agency as a certified public accountant.

US: What would be your dream job?

Hoopes: That would be it actually. I’ve just always really liked my accounting classes in high school. Ever since I was little girl I really wanted to be a business lady so that I could wear a nice business suit.

US: Describe yourself in five words.

Hoopes: Easy-going, energetic, tall (too tall), fun and crazy.

US: What is your greatest talent?

Hoopes: Sports, definitely. Softball to be specific. I started first base for three years. I thought about trying out here but I wanted to get school done with faster.

US: What’s the most disgusting thing you have ever eaten?

Hoopes: Yeast. I was fed a spoonful a yeast and if was horrible. My sisters and I were blind-folding each other and feeding each other stuff and guessing what it was and my sister fed my a big ole’ tablespoon of yeast. My dad made her eat Tabasco sauce as a punishment.

US: Based on your personality, what animal are you most like?

Hoopes: I don’t know. I don’t really know too much about animals because I don’t really like animals because we never really had any. Well horses, we had horses, so I guess I like horses.

US: What’s your motto/philosophy in life?

Hoopes: That’s a hard one. Probably “Don’t sweat the small stuff.”

US: What are your three favorite movies of all time?

Hoopes: “Sweet Home Alabama” and “How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days” because they are the mushy love stories. And then “Tommy Boy” just because it’s a classic. Every one has to love “Tommy Boy.”

US: What is your worst nightmare?

Hoopes: Anything to do with snakes. I used to have these nightmares about them when I was kid and I’ve just hated snakes ever since. Once we went to this, it was like a museum, and they had snakes just there, not like in cages just like hanging from trees and stuff. There were like people by them but I still had to walk by them and it was the worst thing ever.

US: If you had a million dollars, what would you do with it?

Hoopes: Probably save it and us it towards my business. But if I had to do something cool I would like buy a helicopter just cause I’ve like never gone anywhere or really traveled so I’d got to Hawaii and Australia.

US: What’s you pet peeve?

Hoopes: When you live with a lot of people you just have to compromise some thing’s and some people won’t and I just hate that. Oh, and when they slam the door in your face. There was this one time and I was arguing with this person and I guess she got sick of talking and she slammed the door like you’d do when you were 10.

US: What would you like everyone to know you for?

Hoopes: For being friendly to everyone and being an outgoing person.
