Students share their thoughts on 2019 Homecoming
Utah State University students thoroughly enjoyed the plethora of homecoming week activities this year.
This year’s activities included Mr. USU, True Aggie Night, Powder-Puff, Karaoke Raffle Night, the homecoming game against Colorado State University, and more.
McKenzie Clark, a junior at USU, helped plan homecoming events for the Student Alumni Association.
“Homecoming this year was so fun and I had a blast attending all the events,” Clark said. “When I was a freshman, I didn’t get the hype behind Mr. USU so I didn’t go. Definitely regretted that. Now it’s one of my favorites.”
Clark said there was not a single event she did not enjoy.
“Homecoming week this year is one I will never forget,” she said. “From street painting to a record-breaking True Aggie Night, the whole week was a blast.”
Moira Paul, a sophomore, attended different homecoming events than the ones she went to last year.
“I really enjoyed this year’s homecoming!” Paul said. “My favorite event was probably Mr. USU because it was super entertaining to watch.”
Paul had just one complaint about one of the events.
“My least favorite was probably the homecoming dance, but just because they kept changing the music every thirty seconds,” Paul said.
Gage Duffin, a USU freshman, thought the traditions committee did an incredible job and felt the events were put together well.
“My favorite event was probably the time machine dance, because it’s a fun excuse to put on a Marty McFly costume and headbang to Flo Rida, and I just love to dance!” Duffin said.
Duffin added a thanks to the USU Student Association for livestreaming Mr. USU so he could watch his brothers and friends perform.
