Customers who used the third-party online ticketing service, Ticketmaster, during the years 1999 and 2013 are entitled to discounted or free tickets due to a long-standing lawsuit settlement.

The Schlesinger v. Ticketmaster lawsuit was filed back in 2003 when Ticketmaster failed to disclose all United Parcel Service, or UPS, transfer transactions with its consumers. According to the Ticketmaster website, this lawsuit settlement recently came into effect “with the court granting final approval of the settlement in February 2015.”

Ticketmaster said customers who used their service between 1999 and 2013 are granted 17 vouchers with $2.25 of credit towards primary tickets. If the UPS service was used during the transaction, a $5 UPS voucher can also be redeemed up to 17 vouchers. The company also said this credit may be combined “up to two discount vouchers per transaction” to purchase a ticket. For example, two UPS vouchers can be used when UPS delivery service is chosen for a total discount price of $10.00, or two regular discount vouchers for a total of $4.50. Another way that these vouchers can be used is by combining two UPS vouchers and two regular discount vouchers to save a total of $14.50 on transactions. All these vouchers will expire June 18, 2020.

On top of that, Ticketmaster will also “provide $5 million in ticket vouchers for select Live Nation concerts” for customers during the 2016 year, they said. This voucher is “redeemable for two eligible general admission tickets.” Tickets are limited to certain venues with limited availability and are not guaranteed, however Live Nation may add more events to it’s concert list as the year goes on.

In order to see if you qualify for a voucher, all you have to do is check your Ticketmaster account. If you encounter problems logging in, you may email a legal claims administrator at Garden City Group at ticketfeelitigation@gcginc.com.

These discounted vouchers are good to just barely cover the service fees Ticketmaster charges. If people want to save money buying tickets they should shy away from Ticketmaster and Stubhub, and instead opt for a service that doesn’t charge extra fees. So far the only one I’ve come across to not charge fees is Ticket Club, and if you enter this promo code – NoMoreFees – at check out, you’ll save even more!
