To the Editor:

I was disappointed to see the October 3rd issue of the Utah Statesman. The front page was mostly covered with an Associated Press article about the recent LDS conference held in Salt Lake City.

I found this to be disconcerting for a couple of reasons. First, this event isn’t exactly relative to USU. True, there are many LDS students here, but those who are interested in the happenings of the LDS conference watched it on television on Sunday. There is no need for a large, front page article retelling what was already covered in Sunday’s broadcast.

Secondly, the article is from the Associated Press. It wasn’t written by an Aggie. As a “campus voice,” the Utah Statesman should have front page news written by those who are actually on campus.
