Two losses in Louisiana

Just when the Utah State men’s basketball team thought things couldn’t get any worse, they did.

The Aggies not only suffered a lopsided 84-61 loss to No. 25 Louisiana Tech on Thursday but saw junior guard Spencer Butterfield carried off the court and into the locker room after a hard fall.

Early reports indicate Butterfield re-injured his hip and will most likely be out Saturday.

“I’ll be surprised if we have him,” head coach Stew Morrill said.

The Aggies trailed from start to finish, struggling against the Bulldogs full-court press. USU commited 11 first half turnovers and trailed by as many as 31 in the second half.

The Aggies return to action Saturday against UT Arlington in a preview of what will likely be a first round matchup in the WAC Tournament next month.
