USU Adjusts Commencement Plans to Allow for Two Guests

After an announcement was made about an in-person commencement ceremony with virtual guests, Utah State has adjusted plans allowing for limited guests.

According to a press release sent out on Friday, March 12 two guests will be allowed per graduating student this May following the increased availability of the COVID-19 vaccine and adjustments to protocols in the state of Utah. Small graduation events within each college will still occur with face coverings, social distancing, and other safety measures in place.

The event will still be live-streamed for those who cannot attend via https://aggiecast.usu.edu. There will also be a virtual program on May 5 at 7 p.m. for all campuses.

Graduating students will be emailed on Monday, March 15 to RSVP for tickets. Graduates and their families should keep an eye out for more information over the next several weeks.

“We are pleased the public health situation has improved enough to allow us to provide additional opportunities for our graduates and those who have supported them as they worked toward their educational goals,” President Cockett said. “USU will continue to monitor state health guidance and adapt accordingly if cases increase.”

Campus-wide graduation events are scheduled from April 23 to May 6. Each campus has individualized plans. For more information visit www.usu.edu/commencement/schedule/statewide-campuses.
