Indoor Practice Facility

USU Athletics announces plans for new $30 Million indoor facility

Utah State announced on Thursday they will build a new indoor practice facility.

The announcement came after a $1 million donation from Tom and Patty Willis to help build the facility.

“We are grateful for the generous gift from the Willis family on this facility that will be a positive game-changer for our student-athletes across all sports,” said Utah State University Vice President and Director of Athletics John Hartwell in a press release. “Tom and Patty’s buy-in to our vision will serve as a catalyst for our development team as we raise the funds to build the practice facility.”

The $30 million facility will be 110,000-spare-feet and feature a full-size football field as well as the ability to accommodate a full-size soccer field. The building will also serve as the new USU golf training facility in addition to locker rooms and office space for the soccer program.

The new facility will be located next to The Stan Laub Indoor Training Center which is the current training facility. The building of the new facility will free up Stan Laub Indoor Training Center for other teams to use more frequently.

The Stan Laub Indoor Training Center completed construction in 1998. It features a full-width Sprint Turf football field measuring 95 yards in length. The Stan Laub Indoor Training Center is utilized by Utah State football, soccer, softball and track & field.

There is no current timeline for the new project.
