USU golf competes at Spring Break Challenge
Utah State men’s golf senior Braxton Miller recorded a 2-under round, scoring 69 during the second round of play on Tuesday. He is tied for seventh place at the Oral Roberts and Stephen F. Austin-hosted Spring Break Challenge in Irving, Texas.
Utah State as a team is currently ranked 11th with a 41-over 609 (304-305), while Rice University is in the lead with a 36-hole score of 9-over 577 (285-292). Two Rice golfers are tied for first at 2-under 140.
In this tournament, Miller shot his 12th career round in the 60’s. He also recorded nis ninth round under par this season, and the 27th of his career.
Sophomore Chase Lansford is currently tied for 29th for the Aggies at 8-over with a score of 150, and freshman Brock Stanger is tied for 60th place at 13-over with a score of 155. Fellow freshman Andy Hess is tied in the 80th spot, sitting at 20-over with a score of 162, while sophomore Hayden Eckert is in 82nd with 21-over with a score of 163.
USU will conclude tournament play in the Oral Roberts and Stephen F. Austin-hosted Spring Break Challenge on Wednesday after a final round of 18 holes.
