USU to host Washington State in 2020
Utah State athletics director John Hartwell announced Tuesday that USU football will play a home-and-home series against Washington State in 2020 and 2021.
The Aggies will host WSU in Logan on Sep. 5, 2020, then travel to Pullman, WA in 2021 to play on Sep. 4. Washington State will be the first Pac-12 school to host the Aggies as part of a home-and-home arrangement since Oregon State in 1997 and ‘98.
The deal marks only the fifth time in school history USU has faced a Pac-12 team on its home turf. Washington State will also be the first power five school to play in the recently renovated Maverik Stadium.
Hartwell explained that this series is what the program will continue to look for in order to expand and move forward.
“Hosting a Pac-12 school in Maverik Stadium is a direct reflection of the strides our football program has made in recent years,” Hartwell said.
Utah State is 1-3 overall in home games versus Pac-12 programs, its lone victory coming in overtime against Utah in 2012.
