The Utah State University Athletics, in conjunction with Utah Power, will be hosting the Big Blue Golf Classic Friday.

The tournament is held as a fundraiser and proceeds will support the Student Athlete Scholarship Fund.

This is the longest-running fund-raising tournament, said Kevin Dustin, associate athletic director for external operations.

“This tournament has been going for over 20 years,” Dustin said.

Dustin said traditionally the tournament is held on the weekend of the first home football game.

On Saturday, the USU football team will play Wyoming in their first home game of the season.

This tournament usually raises about $10,000 for the scholarship fund, Dustin said.

The tournament will be held at Logan Golf and Country Club, east of campus. The format for the tournament is a four-man scramble.

Play starts at noon and participants will be provided lunch, dinner and tee prizes. Registration for golfers begins at 11 a.m. and runs until noon.

Those interested in playing need to contact Dustin with their foursome as soon as possible.

The entry fee is $150 per person.
