After taking a hard loss to ISU, the USU Aggies quickly recovered and won the second game of a doubleheader 8-4 Saturday.

The ISU Bengals fought hard but got four runs compared to USU’s eight.

In the fourth inning, while USU’s Jordan Hansen was at bat, Jaren Tyler stole home, Matt Stranski followed his lead for another run and Andrew Shawkey wrapped it up giving the Aggies a third run in the inning.

After the exciting play and two quick innings, Jordan Hansen hit a home run in the bottom of the sixth.

“He had really quality at bats,” Schiffman said. “I was impressed.”

Although USU brought quality offense to the field, the defensive plays are what won the game.

“I’m really proud of Jaren Tyler, our last pitcher,” Schiffman said. “He held it together. Defense can make or break you.”
