USU’s Dufficy named First-Team All-Mountain West

After being named conference player of the week on Friday, Utah State junior forward Shannon Dufficy added another accolade to her record today by being picked for the all Mountain-West team.

This is Dufficy’s first selection to an all-conference team in her career, and the first Aggie to be selected to an all-conference team since the 2015-16 season. Dufficy is having her best year of her career statistically, averaging 15.7 points and 10.2 rebounds per game, leading the league in rebounding and ranking fourth in scoring. She is the lone Aggie to be honored with any selection this season.

During the season, Dufficy lead the Aggies in both points and rebounds this season and has helped the team win four straight games coming into tournament play by putting up some of her best numbers of the season. Over the past four games she is averaging 19.8 points and 9.8 rebounds per game.

Dufficy has become a leader for this Aggie team over the past year, starting in all 29 games the team played. She also took on more of the scoring load this season, increasing her scoring average by nearly eight points per game from 7.9 last season.

She and the Aggies start their Mountain West tournament run tonight in Las Vegas with a rematch of their last game regular season game, taking on the Colorado State Rams in the 6 versus 11 matchup. The last time these two teams met Dufficy had a career-high 29 points and 14 rebounds in a 70-59 win for the Aggies.
