Utah State Has 13 Student-Athletes Receive Academic All-WAC Honors In Gymnastics & Women’s Basketball

LOGAN, Utah – The Western Athletic Conference announced its winter all-academic teams on Thursday and Utah State had 13 student-athletes recognized. Among those honored were nine gymnasts and four women’s basketball players. Of the 13 Utah State student-athletes honored, five are receiving academic all-conference honors for the fourth time, two are being honored for the third time, and three are being honored for the second time.

Student-Athletes who are earning academic all-conference honors for the fourth time include gymnasts Ashley Barr, Meagan Lewis, Rachael Mandy and Jessica Parenti-Otte, and women’s basketball player Brittany Phillips. Those being honored for the third time include Brittany Hagen of women’s basketball and Alex Martin of gymnastics, while two-time award winners include Katie Omann and Ana Rickard of women’s gymnastics, and Taylor Richards of women’s basketball.

To be eligible for academic all-conference honors, a student-athlete must have completed at least one academic year, have at least a 3.00 cumulative grade-point average and have participated in at least 50 percent of the team’s contests.
