Utah State introduces new West Stadium Center at ribbon-cutting ceremony

Speaking to a crowd of about 100 media members and selected guests, Utah State President Stan Albrecht and athletic director John Hartwell introduced the new West Stadium Center. The addition to Maverik Stadium — funded in large part by Maverik, Inc.’s 2014 purchase of the naming rights to the stadium — brings the quality of USU’s press box and club seating to the level of the rest of the Mountain West.

Albrecht addressed the improvement to the facilities during the ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday afternoon: “When we came in to the conference we came in wanting to do it right, we came in wanting to have the kinds of facilities, that would be as good as any other institution in the conference, we came in wanting to put the kinds of teams on the field and the court that you would be proud of and the conference would be proud of. I think we’ve done what we said we would do.”

The Aggies begin the season against the visiting Weber State Wildcats on Thursday at 6:00.
